Edmodo: Your Online Classroom πŸ’»πŸ“š

Edmodo is a free online classroom website that provides a platform for student-teacher communication. Edmodo was created as a social networking website for learning. Its aim is to be a platform where teachers, students, and parents can share content like videos and texts submit assignments, and interact when they are not in the classroom. Teachers need to sign up and create an account to set up different classrooms for their students and they can use their email addresses, Google or office365 to create an account, students can choose not to share any personal data they only need to have the code provided by the teacher to join a group. Parents can also join the platform to oversee their children's work but their participation needs to be approved by the group's teacher. When the group is ready, you can start sharing content with your students. After you clicked on the "create" button in your class, you can assign homework, create quizzes, agenda, or gamified activities for your students. You can start a discussion, share class materials by attaching images or files.

I think Edmodo is a very nice platform for teachers and students because it's a simple web 2.0 tool that everyone can access and use. It offers flexibility for teachers, students, and parents. An email address is not required to access the course, only the group code is required and teachers and students don't see their personal information. Teachers can message students directly and give them immediate feedback. It can help students stay organized because everything keeps in one place. Another great thing about Edmodo is that teachers can share their resources with other teachers. So, it is a great way to connect and share information with different teachers around the world. Lastly, Edmodo works like a social media platform for educators and it allows us to explore and follow different hashtags about our profession.

I signed up to Edmodo as a teacher and open my first class, and create some fun activities! It was very easy to create quizzes. There are some options like true/false, multiple options, short answers, etc. and all you have to do is that upload your questions and answers. There is also an option to create a JumpStart activity that allows you to gamify your quizzes by choosing different game options. I think that option makes the activities much more fun and appealing for students!

And finally Here is the link to check out my class on Edmodo (the class code: qxj5sp)
